Creatively supporting You through change and out of struggle.
Hi there,I'm Marc! Thanks for stopping by.So, why are you here. What's going on for you at the moment?Probably a more searching question would be, what are you struggling with presently? What issues have been getting you down, or stressing you out? Are you unable to cope, feeling angry and frustrated, in despair? Are you confused, misunderstood, silenced, alone, lost? What are the difficulties that prevent you from moving forwards and enjoying life, enjoying relationships and connecting to others? Have you been dealing with this problem for a long time, or is it recent? Is there a worry for the future ahead?Therapy can help you navigate such difficulties. It can provide you with space, safety, and connection. To help build tools, gain clarity and understanding. A place to grow at your own pace.By tapping into your hidden resources and identifying your innate strengths. Together, we can move you into a greater awareness and open you up to choice and possibility. There is light at the end of the tunnel, and you don't have to be stuck anymore.I just want to highlight, that you reading this, is the first step towards positive change.

Here's me in person to tell you a bit more.

First and foremost, I offer a secure space with compassion and care. My focus is on developing a safe, trusting, therapeutic relationship that will enable you to explore and engage with the issues at hand.I use a variety of different techniques and interventions, that range from the creative to the cognitive, and from the energetic to the somatic. So whatever your perspective I will hopefully be able to meet your needs.
I take a whole person approach to therapy, which involves developing the connections between the emotional, cognitive and physical systems and experiences of our minds and bodies. This is based on the understanding that everything is interrelated. Here are some of the approaches I use in my therapy.• Person-centred approach - focuses on the therapeutic relationship, using aspects such as empathy, genuineness and positive regard to help create a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship.• Creative interventions, using for example Painting, Poetry, Creative Writing, Lego, model making, etc.• Sand Tray – this is a form of Play therapy, using Sand and everyday objects, in order to explore themes and experiences that a talking approach might not be able to effectively connect with.• Creative metaphor work – there are many creative ways to investigate and analyse the metaphors we connect and use in our everyday lives.• Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), or as it’s also known as Tapping. This is a form of acupressure and cognitive therapy that can alleviate such conditions as stress, anxiety, panic attacks and depression.• Matrix Re-Imprinting this is a gentle dissociative and creative approach that uses EFT, on such aspects as Parts, beliefs and trauma.• NLP – a variety of cognitive applications that can help with anxiety, traumatic events, addictions, even procrastination.• Parts work – this is the idea that we are all made up of roles and aspects that may sometimes work against each other. One of the most important parts that we have, is our inner child, which we all need connection with to experience wellbeing and balance.
This bit tells you how the sessions work
The first session is usually what I call
"A getting to know you"session.
It gives you a chance to find out whether we might be the right fit.
It gives me a chance to assess how I can help you.
Our appointments will usually last for 60 minutes. You can take it one session at a time, or you can block book, whatever your preference is. We will then do a review after every 5th session to see if you are happy with how the therapy is progressing. It is important to have consistency with most types of therapy, so meeting weekly is advised.
However, if you have concerns over frequency or cost we can always talk that through and see if there is an alternative. It's important that you feel you have the right supportive space for your needs.I can do either face-to-face appointments, via Zoom or Teams, or by telephone.
This bit gives more information on the approaches I use. Click on each to find out more.

I have been working as a counsellor since 2016, and have worked in various settings around the country.I trained at the University of Salford and then completed my Masters at the University of Manchester. Then I transferred to Leicester as a counsellor supporting LGBTQIA+ and individuals in racialised communities.
Most recently I have just finished as Mental Health Practitioner and Counsellor helping Higher Education students at the University of Derby.I have a background in creative arts and educational support. With my recent role at the University of Derby I have developed a keen understanding of the present needs and challenges that students face.I have a particular focus on identity, involving the personal, social, sexual and spiritual aspects of our experiences. Carl Rogers’ person-centred approach is a humanistic approach to therapy that focuses on the individual as the expert in their own life. It emphasises the importance of a supportive therapeutic relationship based on empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard. Through this safe and non-judgemental environment, people are supported to explore their experiences and develop greater self-understanding and personal growth.
EFT (Emotional FreedomTechniques)
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), often called tapping, is a simple and effective practice that helps calm the nervous system by gently tapping on specific acupuncture points while focusing on thoughts or emotions. This process can reduce emotional distress, stress, and limiting beliefs by helping the body release stored tension. It’s easy to learn and can be used both during sessions and for ongoing support.
Creative Interventions
Creative therapies use expressive tools like sand tray, art, and poetry to help clients explore thoughts and emotions in a gentle, nonverbal way. These approaches allow inner experiences to be expressed symbolically, which can feel safer or more natural than talking alone. Creative therapies support insight, emotional release, and healing by engaging imagination, intuition, and personal meaning—no artistic skill is required.
The Parts work and Creative Metaphors mentioned earlier would come under this approach
Energy Therapy
Energy work is a gentle, holistic practice that focuses on balancing the body’s natural energy systems to support physical, emotional, and mental well-being. It’s based on the idea that stress, emotions, or life experiences can create energetic blockages, and when these are released, the body’s natural ability to heal and regulate itself is supported.
Matrix Re-Imprinting
Matrix Reimprinting is a gentle technique, using EFT, that works with the subconscious mind to identify and transform the emotional imprint of past experiences or memories. By revisiting these memories in a safe way and introducing new, supportive perspectives, the nervous system can release old patterns and create healthier emotional responses.
NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming)
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a practical approach that explores how thoughts, language, and behaviours are connected. By identifying unhelpful patterns and reframing them, NLP helps clients develop new perspectives, emotional responses, and habits that better support their goals and well-being.

Walk and Talk Therapy (Starting April 2026)
Being outdoors may also enhance mindfulness, creativity, and a sense of connection, helping clients feel grounded while working through challenges. This type of therapy is becoming increasingly popular, and facilitates a different kind of engagement and reflection. A natural outside setting can reduce the intensity of face-to-face conversation and help ease anxiety. It can also make it easier to access and express challenging thoughts and feelings, whilst still remaining grounded and centered. It offers more creative options for clients too. Where individuals can mindfully explore their interactions, observations, thoughts and feelings in a constantly moving environment. This emphasises the power of presence, an empowering stance in any type of therapy. Working with the seasons can also be useful in helping to re-balance our emotional and energetic systems. Reminding us that we work better when we work alongside our own and the world's natural rhythms. There are a few extra considerations on safety and structure with this type of therapy, But everything will be agreed on. This will also be an hour, and there a range of places to suit need and convenience.
It is mostly weather dependant, but there may also availability to be inside whilst outside.Want to know more, then drop me a line.
